Steel White Table, Jody wrote:

refers to a song my brother and I spontaneously wrote in 1990. We were sitting at our dining room (and living room and bedroom—the only room in the apartment) table, which was an antique white acrylic, steel table.

To which I wrote:

I’ve listened to this recording a billion times since it was recorded in January of 1990 in our basement apartment (if you can call that closet the two of us lived in an apartment) in Cote St. Luc, Quebec, a suburb of Montreal, and… Jody plays the harmonics and the nice chords. I’m playing a 12-string guitar with 3 strings missing: the twangy, harsh and out-of-tune part that kind of goes dink-dink-dink-dink in a sort of backwards scale kinda thing. That’s me. The stuff that sounds nice is Jody.

The whole world could say, "You suck," and I would still think this is a symphony.
