Everything You Wanted to Know About Toilets

ToiletToiletology 101:

Let’s plunge in; flush out the facts and plumb the depths of toilet repairs. Almost everything you ever wanted to know about your toilets! And some things you probably never knew you needed to know.

Some of their topics include:

  • History of the Flush Toilet: There is disagreement over who was the inventor of the modern flush toilet, and flushing out the truth is not easy. Many give credit to THOMAS CRAPPER (1837-1910), an English sanitary engineer, for inventing the valve~and~siphon arangement that made our modern toilet possible.
  • How to REALLY Clean a Toilet: Recommended Materials – Rubber gloves or vinyl work gloves, Eye Protection, Bowl Swab, Disinfectant/detergent/cleaner, Disposable toweling or launderable cloth
  • Anatomy of a Toilet
  • Basics of Indoor Plumbing & Toilet Repairs: If you’ve never undertaken plumbing repairs before, you should be aware that Murphy’s Law governs do-it-yourself plumbing repairs. When all goes well, you will wonder why anyone would ever pay someone else to do such a job. But when the going gets rough, and the project gets messy, you’ll swear you’ll never again begrudge a plumber his fees.

Coincidently, I installed some styrofoam in one of my toilets today to try to stop it from sweating; it’s dripping so much it’s ruining my floor.
