    This one iritates the hell out of me:

    “We buy hot dogs in packages of ten and buns in packages of eight”.

    Along the same lines, I enjoy buying a bag of plain chips and a container of chip dip. However, after one bag of chips, you still have some chip dip left over. Thinking you’re smart, you buy two bags of chips for that one container of dip, only to realize that you’ll run out of dip before the two bags of chips.

    After careful study & experiments (and years of countless spending), I’ve determined that the optimal purchase is three bags of plain chips and two containers of chip dip.

    There, I finally got that off my chest!
