<namby-pamby> It IS a big deal. You reached out. You made a difference. A simple lesson for us all. You never know how the littlest thing may make the biggest difference.</namby-pamby>

I was going to correct "tone" but it's funnier with your added comment there.

I saved a tall ship from sinking once.. I hear a clan and then the sound of rushing water, I ran below deck and into the clubhouse (it's like this small compartment in the stern) and saw water rushing in via a pipe, I ran back up, screaming that the clubhouse was flooding from a pipe, I found the engineer and screamed it at him, he ran below and somehow got it stopped while I ran to the topdecks still screaming about it. Anyone with know-how ran down.. I think there was 20 or so people on board at the time. If I hadn't heard it and investigated we woulda been proper-fucked.

Cool. I saved a guy's life once too. He and his girlfriend were renting an apartment from me. One Friday evening there was a panicked knock at my door. It was the guy's girlfriend crying that he was choking. I ran over to the apartment, in the snow, in my socks. I told her to call 911 and Igave him the Heimlich and dislodged the hunk of steak he was choking on. It never came totally out and the paramedics couldn't do any better. The hospital used a pair of tongs to remove it.

I don't think he ever thanked me.
