I’m Going To Be Laid-off, Someday

IT Jobs Continue To Disappear:

An analysis of Bureau of Labor Statistics data shows nearly 160,000 IT jobs have disappeared in the past three years, while the IT unemployment rate has nearly doubled since 2000.

Am I too old (36) to get a different, more stable career? I’m thinking truck driver or used book dealer.

    Know what you mean. I’m 52 and I’m watching my company (a global supply logistics firm) make plans to outsource everything down to the PC support.

    I’ve got 26 years in so I won’t go cheaply.
