The Beer Trilogy: Episode II - England
I was planning to limit each episode of The Beer Trilogy to 5 minutes, but this one took 5 minutes just to get started because I was so excited about sampling a dark beer. I prefer dark full-bodied beers over lagers, so I naturally had more to say this time. It should be noted, however, that I know next-to-nothing about beer. I know how to describe the aromas and flavours of single-malt scotch, but when it comes to beer, the most you’ll get out of me is, “Yup, tastes like beer!” Or, if I’m feeling more academic, “Um, this is good.” I do know that bitters should be served at slightly cooler than room temperature — for the same reason one doesn’t put ice in single-malt scotch: it deadens the taste buds and therefore deadens the flavour. If that seems like sophisticated knowledge, it’s not.
In this episode of The Beer Trilogy, I sample a bottle of Fuller’s London Porter, described on the back of the bottle as:
This historic style of beer has a smooth, rich chocolately character, which makes London Porter a fine after-dinner drink.

I enjoyed this review better than your first: “Oh, there’s an aftertaste.” Funny.
Thanks. However, I don’t have high hopes for “Episode III - Ireland” (which I’ll record once the buzz from the London Porter has worn off), because I’m just not as funny on my own. I need Jenny to counter-act my idiocy.
