Playing The Harmonica

A squirrel playing a harmonicaThere are lots of harmonica lessons available online, but I think Jack’s Harmonica Page offers the best I’ve read, including lots of tablature. Coast to Coast Music offers a short blues rhythm track in G to play along to.

I bought a Hohner harmonica in my early teens, but I gave up learning it: it seemed to require a lot of intuition and feeling that I couldn’t learn. I may try again someday.

    I hate the harmonica almost as much as I hate the saxamaphone.

    There are lots of resources about harmonica online, but the thing you really need to get going is dedication. It doesn’t take a lot of work to be able to play simple melodies and it’s extremely gratifying. You should get back to it !
