It’s Stupid
I just saw an ad on television where a teenager was rubbing herself against a grassy field, like a dog does when it rolls and sniffs around when it finds a scent. She said (paraphrasing here):
Wouldn’t it be stupid if people intentionlly tried to smell like crap? Well, over 60,000 youths every year do it when they start smoking.
I made the number up: I don’t remember what it was. It made me laugh though, and I looked up the website they advertised: stupid.ca, a site sponsored by the Government of Ontario. Well done.
I found their disclaimer amusing:
It [their website] is a social commentary on the choice to smoke or not to smoke and it is not meant to be an insult to smokers, smokers aren’t stupid.
They have one print ad and two television ads in their This Is Stupid section.
