Harbour Mist

Halifax Harbour (Winter)This is the last post Phillip left as a draft and never got around to posting. It’s a 4-minute video which is 9.4mb in size. Here’s what he had to say about it:

It was 40 below down at the harbour when I recorded this video. I was wearing fingerless gloves. I was freezing. I could barely hold the camera steady. Within minutes I couldn’t feel my hands. So the horizon is crooked, and the panning shots are uneven. Too bad. (Perhaps I’ll get a tripod for my birthday.) But look at the mist.

wow. i played it back in full screen. the low resolution is unfortunate, but the widescreen effect makes it seem more like a professionally-shot short film. your hands might have been shaking, but you managed some excellent shots. remarkable considering it was all hand-held (with one of those little “palmcorders” i assume?). good job.
