Webcasting Townes
I’m playing nothing but non-RIAA Townes Van Zandt for the rest of the night on the Mud Radio webcast.
Update (Feb. 28, 7:00pm EST): I’ll be playing the blues for the rest of the night, both RIAA and non-RIAA — for the next 6-7 hours.

Like anybody cares.
I do!
Mud Radio for Sunday, Feb. 27:
I’ll be listening to Whole Wheat Radio for awhile.
Okay, WWR is playing… stuff I don’t like. So I’m playing Greg Brown for the next little while… while I’m making breakfast.
GREG BROWN. I’ll be webcasting a documentary about Greg Brown later today… once I find the disc, which I seem to have misplaced. I know it’s around here somewhere. Stay stuned… I’ll give at least an hour’s notice here before I play it.
Update: The stream will be down for about an hour, maybe two. Later this afternoon I’ll be playing the Greg Brown documentary. I’ll give an exact time in a while.
The Greg Brown documentary will play at 2:30pm EST — but I don’t think anyone has tuned in on Sunday afternoon yet. So I’ll probably play it again during the week when more people are likely to tune in.
Update: Oops. I was a little late. The documentary is coming on now (though it won’t show up as such in your players display).
Anything goes for the rest of the night.
I think I’m going to restrict the webcast to evening hours, mainly because I don’t have enough music to play all day without regular listeners hearing the same songs every day… And if I come up with a regular show of some sort, it’ll probably happen on Sunday evenings, which is usually the only time I have for goofing around behind the mic.
Update: The stream is up right now, though (non-RIAA even though the stream might say “Anything Goes”). Iris Dement, who I discovered from J-Walk, happens to be playing as I write this update.
(I turned the stream back on because I noticed J-Walk linked to my beard-shaving post, so I’m milking the “exposure”.)
5:35pm — I’m playing random tracks from my reggae collection now. I need to weed out some of the Bob Marley. Most people who tune in and hear a reggae song usually tune out after about 30 seconds. Doesn’t matter to me. Nobody’s listening anyway.
6:46pm — I’m playing random blues tracks now, both RIAA and non-RIAA.
8:00pm — I’m sticking with the blues for the rest of the night. My computer is timed to go off in about 7 hours without any notice. I only have 160 blues songs in my library at the moment, so they may not start repeating in a few hours; don’t know. — Big hello to my listeners in Maryland and Little Rock!
MUD RADIO Mar. 1 - 9:38am: I just noticed that the Whole Wheat Radio stream is down. So until Jim gets it back up, I’ll be playing a playlist called “Phillip’s Whole Wheat,” which consists of a selection of my favourite non-RIAA recordings. It’s about 5 hours of music, mostly folk and blues, though a touch of classical now and then.
Mud Radio comments continue here.
