6:15am. I'm still awake. Been playing the blues for the past 45mins. "One More Mile to Go," by Otis Spann and James Cotten from THE BLUES NEVER DIE. Perfect for this early in the morning.

5:12am. Two hours to go (not including the newscast). Just starting to get light outside. It's funny how once you get into it, the time just passes by. I did my one hour reggae show, though I only got to play about 7 songs (because I played several 8+ min songs), but some good roots reggae. Anyway, coffee time...

3:13am. We've been on for just over an hour. Jenny teched for about half an hour, then I did half an hour. Now it's her turn again. At first I thought, jeez, this is going to be a long night. But feels like we're getting into a rhythm now. Not much to report, I guess. So far so good. Excellent music, of course.

You know what? YOU'RE RIGHT. We're crackers, man. Out of our skulls. I don't know what we were thinking.

It's 12:45am. I just got out of bed. Jenny and I went to bed a little over 2 hours ago, and, surprising to me anyway, I fell asleep. We had on Bill Frisell's GHOST TOWN and Jill Barber's OH HEART playing softly in the background --- one hell of a soothing soundtrack to my reveries. That's the word for it too. I wasn't dreaming --- I wasn't unconscious --- but I was floating. Very relaxed. Like that guy in Office Space.

I am out of it.

I think Jenny's going to be useless by the time we get to the radio station, because she didn't get any sleep. She just lay there in bed, not sleeping, like someone looking at the ceiling all night the night before they go on a big fishing trip. Yeah, this is going to be fun.

Having actually gotten some sleep, and some good sleep, I'd rather be back in bed. Instead, I'll be at the radio station in about 30 minutes...

(By the way, typing in this anti-spam code is going to kill me.)

We're actually live and insane until 9 in the morning, Phillip, not 7. I do a news show from 7:30 to 9:00. You're going to co-host that too. We'll be incredibly incoherent new anchors. I recorded a 40-minute speech that I'll broadcast. Sound fun?
