Honda bikes to get air bagsHonda Motor Co. said Thursday it has developed the world’s first motorcycle air bag system for commercial use, to be mounted on a production model to be released in the United States.
The automaker said the new Gold Wing motorcycle due for release late next spring in the U.S. will be the first to feature the new air bags as an option.
I would think the driver would bounce off the airbag and then go flying into side traffic, instead of head over heels into what you collided with; although it would reduce your impact. I suspect most bikers would consider it wimpy to have it.
