I’m Married?
Today my wife and I forgot it was our 5th wedding anniversary; my mom reminded us. So my mom bought take-out Chinese food for us, and then took care of the kids while Dawn and I went for a motorcycle ride in the dusk. It was nice. The photo is of my mom and my kids.
My aniversary was on the weekend too. Nothing romantic. I actually reminded my wife. Then I said something like “The $100 candles and light fixture you bought last week, yeah that was your gift.” Brings a tear to your eye doesn’t it.

Don’t kid yourself. Your wife did not forget your anniversary. She was waiting to see if you would forget her anniversary. She was waiting for 12:01 to pounce on your ass, and chew it to shreds, you cold, loveless son-of-a-bitch. Your Mom knew that, because she is a wife too. Her maternal instincts kicked in and she saved you. And she did it more skillfully than most. She didn’t draw you aside and whisper to you. No. Cuz than you’d feel like YOU forgot. She blurted it out in front of you both… your wife HAD to go along with the expression of shock, or her plan would have been revealed. Your Mom is a clever woman. You’re lucky she’s on your side.
