Pathologically Myopic
My optometrist called me “pathologically myopic” today. He said I’m a blind person who doesn’t look blind. Six months ago I started having to read small print clearly by holding it farther from my eyes, which surprised me because I’ve always had to bring things closer; I am near-sighted, after all. The optometrist said that’s normal for someone my age, but I don’t need bifocals yet, although it’s inevitable.



Is that a prescription helmet?

Yes. My retinas are fragile and can be torn with any sudden head movement. I wear it everywhere except in bed.
Bubbles should do a TV ad for this.
