Jimbob’s Birthday

Phillip posted this at 8:16 pm under music & audio, phillip's room, wwr

Jim Kloss was born 50 years ago today. And in honour of this momentous occasion, I’ve resurrected Mud Radio — just for today. And I think it’s appropriate that I play the most organic, roots music I’ve heard in a long, long time. And it’s RIAA-safe to boot.

I hope it’s a good day for you, Jim.

Jim, sorry I had to miss the festivities. But I enjoyed the slideshow. Looked like a good time.

I had all of 3 people tune into my webcast in which I played over and over again the music of Jerry Garcia, David Griman and Tony Rice, from their excellent albums of roots music (manolin, banjo and guitar) Not For Kids Only, Shady Grove, and the Pizza Tapes. I can’t get over how good these guys are, the soulful singing of Jerry Garcia.

(My final thoughts are in the Mud Radio chat.)
