A Review Of A Chocolate Bar
President’s Choice Organics European Dark Chocolate
Rating:
(9/10)
This is damn good chocolate. It’s a flat-shaped bar, about 5 millimeters thick, divided into squares. I recommended eating one square at a time, letting the chocolate melt on your tongue. It’s rich and buttery, with a touch of mild tartness. Delicious. Its ingredients: Organic unsweetened chocolate, organic raw cane sugar, organic cocoa butter, soy lecithin, organic vanilla extract.
The European in the bar’s title means (according to my limited research) the chocolate has a minimum of 35% cocoa solids. This bar has 70% cocoa solids. What the hell are “Cocoa solids”? The only good definition I could find was:
The dark in the title means there’s no milk added to it.
For my American readers, President’s Choice is a Canadian company. I don’t know if their products are available in the States. Who’s the president making the choices? I dunno.

President’s Choice makes some good stuff. i’ll buy that over no-name or that bullshit Our Compliments crap that Sobey’s makes.
I know where I’m stopping after work on my way home tonight…
I forgot to mention: eat it slowly. I eat 2 or 3 squares after supper as I relax with my cup-o-tea. That’s all you need, they’re so rich.
I might try it, although as a rule I stay away from anything labled organic, cuz ya know, Dog crap is organic.
How does this compair to the Truffles you had at my place?
truffles are the devil.
Another PC recommendation - I’m loving the President’s Choice Moroccan-Style Mint Tea. It has a very strong minty smell, almost like spearimint, and has a sweet taste. If I didn’t watch myself make it every morning and every day after lunch, I’d think someone added honey to it.
I finally found this chocolate bar at a grocery store that opened a couple weeks ago, the first time I’ve seen it anywhere. You’re right. It’s an excellent bar. It’s the Lagavulin of chocolate bars. A little bit goes a long way. I can usually scarf chocolate down in large amounts, but this stuff isn’t like a chocolate bar. It’s more akin taking a bite from some kind of exotic root. Very nice.
