Actors Wanted

Phillip posted this at 11:00 am under phillip's room

This is a long shot, but here it comes.

I’m looking for two female actors, mid-20s or early-30s, to play the lead and supporting roles in a short film I’m directing on April 9th. It’s a single-day, single-location shoot in St. John’s, Newfoundland. They would have to be available for at least three rehearsals before the shoot date. I’m holding auditions at 40 Kings Road tomorrow evening, Tuesday, March 28th.

If you happen to know any St. John’s actors with a good sense of comedy who might be interested, please feel free to send them a link to this post, or ask them to email me.

Film Synopsis:
A young woman, Maggie, is initially overjoyed from winning a lifetime supply of Kraft Dinner, but then comes to view the 30,000 boxes of Kraft Dinner in her living room as a symbol of her own mortality: “This Kraft Dinner is going to outlive me!” She comes up with a plan to “beat death,” but maybe it isn’t such a good idea.

MAGGIE
- late 20s, early 30s graduate student in English
- slightly neurotic in an endearing kind of way
- smart and clever, but not egotistical or pretentious
- friendly, though prefers small social groups over crowds
- drinks, but doesn’t care for the dance-club scene
- dresses nicely but not trendy
- doesn’t have a boyfriend, and doesn’t care
- maybe spends too much time alone

EMILY
- a more socially well-adjusted version of Maggie
- late 20s, early 30s graduate student in Education
- dresses fashionably, but tastefully
- intelligent, out-going, doesn’t mind the club scene
- always has a boyfriend
- next to Maggie, she’s the voice of reason

This casting call is primarily for the characters of Maggie and Emily. However, anyone interested in playing a small, though important, role as a delivery man (one scene, one line), can email me.

Sounds hot, I’d totally like to play the delivery man, but would you be willing to fly me to st. john’s?
