Aboriginals Want “Their” Land

Caledonia Ontario 2006 aboriginal protestCanadian aboriginals (that an oxymoron?) are pissed off at the white man again, protesting the development of land that they claim is theirs in the Caledonia land claim dispute:

Protesters say the land [that a subdivision was being built on] was granted to Six Nations more than 200 years ago and was never officially transferred to non-natives.

According to my brief research, the shit hit the fan when the land developers started to build houses. I wonder if the resentment of being enslaved, diseased, and displaced by Europeans 400 years ago will ever go away.

I’ve never seen aboriginal-related news on the front page of CNN’s site, unlike Canadian news, where it appears a few times a year, if not monthly.
