A Momentary Lapse of Myopia

Jody posted this at 11:33 am under what i did today

I’ve needed glasses since I was five. This morning, as I got out of the shower, I saw everything clearly, WITHOUT MY GLASSES. And then it was gone. For a second I could read the writing on the toothpaste without my glasses. It was startling.

It’s happened once before. I had asked my optometrist about this (who calls me Pathologically Myopic), and he said it’s just muscle spasms; don’t get my hopes up.

After wearing glasses for over 30 years, I can’t imagine not wearing them anyway.

Are you sure you’re not Spider-Man? Maybe you got bit a radioactive spider. Muscle spasm? I don’t go for that.

You should get, I think they’re called, a Tibetan eye chart and do exercises. Anyone’s vision can improve at least a little with the right exercise and if you’ve had moments of perfect vision anyway, you might be able to get more than a little improvement.

Yeah, but then he’d have to pay for a new prescription for his glasses.

You should get laser eye surgery. I hear the shortterm effects are wonderful and the longterm effects are horrible!
