I recently re-installed Windows XP on my machine and consequently had to re-install several applications, including this one. There must be something significantly different about the latest version of XP, because the Logitech Music Anywhere software doesn't work anymore. I won't get into, but suffice it to say I've tried everything, every possible configuration, and it won't work. I tried to install it on another PC, and it still doesn't work. I've check online and I'm not the only one having these problems. If you're lucky to have a machine that happens to accept the software, good for you (apparently Vista can handle it without installing any of the Logitech software). But it seems you're just as likely to have a machine that will not accept the Logitech software. I'm getting a Vista machine in a few weeks, which I hope solves the problem. If it doesn't, then that's it for Logitech's Music Anywhere. It was always a bit buggy. Too bad. I'm going to miss it. My original 7/10 rating would be much lower now. It'll be a zero if I can't get it to work.

Norm, what you say doesn't surprise me. I've looked over several online reviews since I wrote this post, and it's definitely a hit-and-miss product. I didn't pay much for mine, and didn't have high expectations. It's good enough for my purposes, but if I could get a full refund without any hassle, I probably would --- and then I'd wait for a better product to come out.

Several online reviewers report problems. For me, the remote control is unless. But a bigger problem, from what I've read online, seems to be the signal cutting out. Coincidentally, the signal on mine began dropping out this past week. I fixed it by plugging the receiver into a dedicated circuit --- no extension cords or tool bars. I don't know why that should make any difference, but it did. Interference from other wireless products seems fairly common too, though so far mine's working out alright.

Logitech has already stopped manufacturing the item, probably because there are too many problems with it. I suspect that's why most of their stock is already available at eBay discount stores. It's possible to get one that works the way it's supposed to, but it's a crap shoot. You're just as likely to get a piece of junk.

Sent mine back at their expense, can't skip or pause and range very limited,30 feet. New one arrived and still have the same problems. Looking for a better one with features that work.
