What I Did On my Summer Vacation:
- Spent a night a my parent’s trailer near Parlee Beach, which the kids loved.
- Helped build a deck for my dad’s trailer.
- Took my daughter to Ratatouille, which bored her near the end, but I enjoyed it.
- Mowed the lawn.
- Barbecued pork tenderloin on a cedar plank, which was delicious.
- Washed the car.
- Planted peas and beans.
- Received a warning at a police checkpoint about my car not being registered.

What I Didn’t Do On My Summer Vacation: Take a vacation. The film shoot I’m on finishes this week.

I’ve been able to check on my tomato plants every weekend, though, and in the past three weeks they’ve grown from about six inches to about three feet. Should be a good crop this year. Not that I really know what the hell I’m doing, but I’m learning.

The garlic I planted last fall is doing well; it’s over 2 feet tall. This year we planted peas, beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, and lettuce. We’re eating the lettuce every week.

I am sure once jody returns to work he will then have time to address the needs and desires of his adoring blog community….it makes no sense to attend to this on his own time when one may aquire paid time doing this activity unknowingly from his employer….hey whatever happened with all that work stuff….

Summer vacation? What is this “summer vacation” thing of which you speak? Such wonderous events are unknown to me!

(I don’t have vacation until after Labour Day, when I’ve officially been here for a year. For now, I’m making do with a day off here and there.)
