What’s A Fatwa?
A Fatwa is a principle or judgment to clarify how an Islamic should behave in certain situations. These laws are created regularly, such as Rushdie’s death sentence. Fatwas are created by a Mufti, someone who knows Islamic law.
FatwaIslam.com claims to be the most comprehensive online Islamic Fatwa guide. Here are some goodies:
- …what is the ruling on children who curse the Religion?
You should know that the pen is lifted from the children, however, forbid them from insulting the religion severely, discipline them and beat them, until they leave this disgusting habit.
- What is the ruling concerning hanging a picture on the wall? What is the ruling concerning owning pictures of people?
It is not allowed to hang a picture or keep a picture of any being that possesses a soul. It is obligatory to destroy such pictures.
- If the wife has a job and she receives a good salary, is it incumbent upon the husband to provide for her? And what will the situation be, if his income is little?
It is an obligation upon the husband to provide for his wife, even if she has a good salary, because his providing for her is in return for the pleasure which he gets from her - even though his income may be little, unless the woman is good-natured and is indulgent towards her husband regarding provision, then the matter is up to her.

whew! that third point was causing me some concern….but alas it appears the conversion may proceed…sorry jody i have had to remove all the pictures of you from my bedroom….i mean apartment…
