15 Things I’m Kinda Gonna Blog About
I read a blog (i.e., skimmed through a blog) today that wasn’t J-Walk’s or Steel White Table or Mud Songs. (The most popular category at Mud Songs, by the way, because I know you want to know, is Homebrew.)
It was Darren Barefoot’s blog and he wrote a post called 55 More Blog Posts I Hope You Write. Here are 15 I chose from his list:
The Story of My Most Serious Injury — I flipped my mountain bike and landed on my face and woke up on the side of the road when the ambulance came to pick me up. 32 stitches along the left side of my face and my left ear which was partially torn off. People regularly tell me I’ve got a pen mark on my face and I tell them, nope, it’s a scar from when I flipped my bike and landed on my face. Why I Love My Hometown — I don’t. But I miss Nova Scotia just about every day. I love the land. How I Shop — I do everything I can to avoid shopping. My Ideal Job — Writing from home. (Too bad I can’t write for shit.) My Worst Subject in School — French, which I dropped as soon as I was allowed to. Not only was it my worst subject, I hated most of my French teachers. Anyone from Graham Creighton Junior High remember that perv French teacher who shall remain nameless? Anyone have Mr. C—— for Math? Man, that guy was a nut. He used to throw a deflated volleyball at students who weren’t paying attention. If I Had a Super Power — I’d be invisible. No question. Here’s Where My Opinion Differs From the Majority — Too many to count. Why I Don’t Travel — Because I’m poor. If you answer yes to either of these questions, you’re not poor. (1) Do you vacation outside the country at least once a year? (2) Do you have a stainless steel refrigerator? My Greatest Sin Against the Environment — I regularly throw gum on the ground because I don’t consider it garbage. My Most Hated Movie — Any so-called comedy with Ben Stiller. The Book That Changed My Life — The Holy Bible. My Unexpected Mentor — That’s an interesting topic. I’ll have to think about that one. How I Earned My Worst Karma — I naturally think of the negative before I think of the positive. I wish it was the other way around but it’s not. What Scares the Shit Out of Me — Everything. The Only Thing I Can Teach You — Nothing. Just pay attention and don’t forget to use your brain once in awhile and maybe you’ll learn something. But not from me.
