I began wearing glasses in grade 6, though I didn’t wear them all the time (even though I was supposed to) until high school when I was so blind I couldn’t get away with not wearing them anymore.

   Actually, I “wear” glasses but I am often heard saying “Where” are my glasses. :-)

   I have pretty much the same history - very uncool to wear glasses in high school so I didn’t wear them until the danger of not wearing them behind the wheel of my car became apparent even to my teenage mind.

   I am now the verge of needing bifocals - everyone needs glasses eventually - if you live long enough.
