Snow Shoeing

I went snow shoeing yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised by how much fun I had. Big deal, right? You’re walking around the snow with big flat things tied to your feet. But snow shoes work. I was able to walk on top of the snow without falling through. It sure made walking in the woods a lot easier. It would probably make walking around St. John’s easier too. I realized the possibilities as soon as I started walking around with them. You don’t need a trail to get around with snow shoes. You can go anywhere. It’s a good low-impact form of exercise too. I’m going to buy my own pair as soon as I can.

I never went snow-shoeing. I did cross-country skiing once, nearly dying from the exertion.

It’s a lot easier than cross-country skiing. The learning curve is zero. Strapping on the snow shoes is the hardest part of it all.
