Tom Waits and Bacon

Phillip posted this at 1:00 pm under appreciations, music & audio, phillip's room

I just read an interview with Tom Waits from a year or so ago. Apparently Tom likes the sound of bacon. When asked, “Do you have a favourite sound?” he answered:

Bacon. In a frying pan. If you record the sound of bacon in a frying pan and play it back it sounds like the pops and cracks on an old 33 1/3 recording. Almost exactly like that. You could substitute it for that sound.

There you go. (Too bad SWT doesn’t have a bacon category.)
