How To Embed An MP3 Player In Your Posts

Jody posted this at 11:33 am under internet & computers

Excellent article about How to Embed MP3 Audio Files In Web Pages With Google or Yahoo! Flash Player. Here’s the guts of it:

Google Reader has an inbuilt MP3 player that is pretty much the same as Gmail player but it also works on non-Google websites. This player has volume controls, no Google branding and it auto-detects the duration of the music file so your readers know how long the song will last.

And there’s the HTML for it:

<embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://www.google.com/reader/ui/3247397568-audio-player.swf?audioUrl=MP3_FILE_URL" width="400" height="27" allowscriptaccess="never" quality="best" bgcolor="#ffffff" wmode="window" flashvars="playerMode=embedded" />

Let’s test it with a one of Jim’s Whole Wheat Radio recent rants:

    Yeah, labnol is one of the few tech feeds I subscribe to. He hypes a fair amount and gets excited about sites that won’t be here 6 months from now, but he also has some real gems frequently. He must work very hard to put out the level of detail on the variety of tech stuff he does everyday.

    I stole his CSS for the code formatting there, too!
