How To Build A Robot

Jody posted this at 3:43 pm under science

robot building book coverI have no idea how to build a robot, so I bought a book! Robot Building for Beginners is going to show me how to build a robot. It’s a thick book, so it won’t get built any time soon, but I AM going to try.

In Robot Building for Beginners, not only will you learn about the basic parts and tools of robotics, but also you’ll actually build a fantastic line-following robot. All the information you need is included: schematics, modular experiments, tool and part numbers, and step-by-step instructions.

Here’s a video of the line-robot I will try to build (direct link to a 1mb Quicktime video).

I’m doing it for my three year old son, who’s obsessed with robots now.

Here’s a robot that can supposedly solve a Rubik’s Cube.
