When we were in labrador in the early nineties, a watermelon would have been "bloody luxury". I think this watermelon was in Nain...so as North as you could go...in regards of permenant settlement....hey..you could almost always get cases of those little cans of schnieder cocktail wieners..mmmmm... we used to get a susidy from a southern community group which we used to buy oranges, and apples when available and UV milk to feed to the kids at the school because fruit was pretty expensive...obviously it still is...
