Can The Art of Watercolour Painting Be Taught?

joan gregory watercolourI’m taking Watercolour: Introductory Steps to Confident Watercolour Painting at the local community college next month. The instructor, Joan Gregory, describes the course as

…the very fundamentals of watercolour painting. The 1st evening we will be discussing materials… and I do my best to make it as simple as possible… also without too many supplies… just basic… and then, if you fall in love with watercolour, you can add more later.

Exactly what I’m looking for.

I don’t draw or paint as a hobby; I just have an interest in it, as I do most everything; however, I think this is the most accessible to me.

I’ll be posting updates of my path to greatness!

All I can think of is Bob Ross… “Let’s paint a happy little cloud right over here. This is your world – you make it how you’d like.”

  6. Fredericks says:

Watercolour painting is the hardest of the three most popular painting media (oils, acrylics, waters). Sure you can go on your own. Lots do. But, speaking personally, I have learned a lot from the classes I have taken. Not only that, but the amount of information I have acquired n classes would have taken me years of trial and error to have learned on my own. Good luck.

  7. Jody says:

Thanks for the encouragement. I’m going into this blind, hoping I’ll discover the one talent that’ll fulfill my life.

  8. Pender says:

  9. Jody says:
