Watercolour Painting – Week 2 13

In the the first week of watercolour painting we learned the basics of the equipment used and some techniques.

This week we practiced the wet-in-wet techniques more:

We did our first real painting that was based on a sketch that everyone followed. My first watercolour painting is titled A Distant City (7.5″ X 5.5″ on paper):

Have you seen any of my mother-in-laws water colour paintings at my place?

I don’t remember. You being the IT person in the family, I’m assuming you created a website for her to display and sell her work. Where is it?!

I’ll give you $7 for the “dirty sink” painting!

  4. Reply Jody Sep 23,2009 9:12 am

That’ll pay for the paper at least.

Wow, that city painting is excellent.

You need a link to biggify the paintings.

  6. Reply Jody Sep 23,2009 9:36 am

I didn’t want to biggify it because you’d see the imperfections easier. Ya, I’m expecting too much of myself. Tough shit.

Resist the urge to throw that away. Its a great beginning but I can hear you saying “imperfections” over and over.

I am so proud of you!

I won’t be throwing out. Hell, I’m gonna frame the damn thing.

    And thanks!

Oh my, Joan, my watercolour painting instructor, is reading this site. I feel pressure to post something interesting and useful now!

I AM going to be posting more information about watercolor painting, in addition to my experience in the course.
