Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) is supposed to be available from Microsoft today.
Update: Microsoft has made the download available (iso).
I’m posting this cause I’m curious how many hits it’ll get with the news that Windows 7 Service Pack 1 can be downloaded today.
It should be available at the Microsoft Update Center or its Service Pack Center sometime today, February 22, 2011.
SP1 contains the following updates:
- Additional support for communication with third-party federation services.
- Improved HDMI audio device performance.
- Corrected behavior when printing mixed-orientation XPS documents.
- Support for Advanced Vector Extensions (AVX).
- Improved Support for Advanced Format (512e) Storage Devices.
- Enhanced support for additional identities in RRAS and IPsec.
- Virtual desktop improvements.
- Bug fixes.
Aren’t you excited?!
Avoid the confusion… simply use Windows Update from your O/S; it’ll get it for you.
