Song #2: “Freight Train”

I remember seeing Elizabeth Cotten play “Freight Train” on CBC-TV when I was about 10. She played her guitar upside-down — with the bass strings on the bottom. She’s the first person I saw play guitar that made me want to play guitar.

That’s not the greatest version of the song, but still, she’s about 100 years old in the video, so it’s not too bad.

    I know it already. I play it all the time. It’s one of my default songs. I’m looking forward to playing it on a 6-string banjo.
