Dad died last Saturday, September 5, 2009.
We cremated him. We’re having a memorial service locally, then we’re flying to Newfoundland where another memorial will occur, along with burying his ashes.

The kids found this moth on the front porch this morning; it was huge.
It’s a Luna Moth (Actias luna).
I think it was dying: it wasn’t reacting to our presence, even when I gently picked it up and put it in the garden.

Escaped bees abuzz in N.B.
Approximately 12 million honeybees have escaped from a truck that overturned on the Trans-Canada Highway in New Brunswick.
Rain in the area is currently keeping the bees under control, said RCMP Sgt. Derek Strong.
They’re being imported because pesticides have been killing the natural population of bees.
