Jenny picked up a cedar plank from the grocery store today. (Yup, it’s just a piece of wood.) We were supposed to soak it for 4 hours, but we didn’t have time. We soaked it in boiling water for about 2 hours instead. We heated up our $89 Canadian Tire gas BBQ to — well, [...]

I saw a silly 3-D movie tonight and afterwards took a bunch of pictures of myself wearing the glasses in various poses. These are the banjo poses. Most of them are blurry. Not much to see really.
I did some other poses that are funny. I might post them later. No much time for blogging when [...]

Jody and I have received genuine, no-fooling, legit photo credits, all of them on the Newfoundland and Labrador Heritage Website.
Mine appears in the Arts and Economy article.
Jody has two photo credits. The first is in the article on Rural Depopulation in Newfoundland and Labrador; the second appears in Depopulation Impacts.
All the articles are written by [...]

At this moment, I’m creating a single DVD slideshow of all the digital photos or snapshots I’ve taken since 2003 (when I got my first digital camera). I simply dragged-and-dropped my entire “My Pictures” directory into Nero’s photo slideshow thing, whatever it’s called. It’s been transferring the photos for the past 15 minutes and it’s [...]

A got a package from some politician on Ontario today. A previous package arrived a few days ago. This guy must be spending his constituency allowance on postage for this stuff, which cost more than $30 — though what’s inside is priceless. The first package contained a pink THINK sign, as in “Think Pink.”
The second [...]

This post is for my family, so move on all the rest (i.e. 2) of you.
Here’s a collection of photos from my mom’s and daughter’s trip to Newfoundland a week ago. It was my mom’s 60th birthday:

Today is Thanksgiving in Canada, a day to give the turkey industry a boast. My dead turkey’s name is Joseph. He’s being cooked for about 3 hours at 325°. We’re having cheesecake for desert, which is what I’m looking forward to the most.
Unrelated to this topic, here are some closeup photos of [...]

I bought a standard door peephole lens for $4.50 at my local hardware store today and held it in front of my digital camera. I then set the camera for maximum zoom and the auto-focus did the rest. Try it sometime and take a few pictures of your family and friends. It’s good for a [...]

Well, I had to pick my tomatoes last week because it’s too cold, even in the greenhouse, for the plants to stay alive much longer. I took some pictures which I haven’t sorted through yet. I’ll update this post at a later date. Click the image to view the photos.

I just did it. Steel White Table now has a “Gardening” category. Wooooh! Yah! Rock on!
I woke up early this morning, my first day off in about a week, and went out in the backyard with a cup of coffee. I hung out in the greenhouse and the garden until my coffee was gone. You [...]

As everyone knows, we go for a walk in the woods most Sunday mornings. Here are some photos of yesterday’s trip.
