Cod

I bought the following at Costco today:

  • Cod: A Biography of the Fish that Changed the World by Mark Kurlansky. $8.99 U.S. I bought this thinking my parents would enjoy it as well.
  • The Footprints of God by Greg Iles. $4.49 U.S. This is a a thriller about "the exploration of religious themes without the usual New Age blather or window-dressed dogma". I wanted a quick read.
  • Khaki pants made with "stain fighting technology developed by caring comfort engineers". That’s what it says on the tag! $16.99 U.S.

Yeah, I’m cutting back on my book buying.

I don’t buy EVERY book I see

When I go to Costco I’m always tempted to buy books I haven’t read about but look interesting, when I see them there at their cheap price. For example, I saw 1421: the Year China Discovered the World there for less than 10 bucks. I don’t read much history books, but I seemed interesting as I started reading there. Then I thought my dad might like it. Then I thought I could sell them used on amazon.ca, probably making a profit. I didn’t buy it. Yet.
