Enough Bush

Bush ProtestorsI just got back from a place where the President of the United States of America, George W. Bush, was giving a speech, a speech full of the usual b.s., some of it kind of frightening. I’d say there were at least 3000 protestors surrounding the streets outside the building he was in. I’m not fond of crowds and I’ve never been comfortable being a part of a large group. But I’ll do my part now by posting this video of the protests. I don’t think any of the local coverage I’ve seen so far shows what it was really like to be out there on the streets.

Update: The video has been removed because a political party was using it for promotional purposes, and without asking me first.

  1. While I was there, I kept thinking of a Danny Schmidt song, Already Done, where he says: “If you’re gonna fly your flag my friend, be mindful how it’s made, and see it’s got six billion stars and stripes of every shade. And hang it in the door frame until the door itself’s repaired, until all the grieving’s come its course and there’s no one left that’s scared.” I thought that was a good song to have in my head while I was watching all this go down.

  2. Okay, that’s it for the Bush posts at SWT. I’ve been told I post about things toilet related a lot. Well, that’s it. No more.
