Corrective surgery set for Glooscap:
Some motorists travelling Highway 104 toward Truro claim the statue looks like it has an appendage not intended by its sculptor emerging from its midriff.
Ribald humour and giggling 10-year-olds aside, the illusion is being taken seriously.
“We may have to take the arm off and get it bent up a little bit more and get his fingers on a staff with an eagle on the end of it, to take that illusion away,” said Lawrence Paul, chief of Millbrook First Nation.
I’ve driven by it many times and never noticed.
Legal Revenge Against Spam Snail-Mailers:
…here’s a completely LEGAL way to fight back against idiots like MCI. You can mail their junk back to them for FREE using their own postage-paid envelopes. The only catch is that it will be attached to 50 lbs of additional junk you’ve gathered from around your house (rocks, bricks, old shingles, etc.). This works, so please read on….
I’d feel guilty about doing something like that, though it is awfully tempting; maybe I’ll start small, like sending used cat litter.
Cassini spots huge “spear” on Saturn moon:
The first close-up images of Saturn’s moon Tethys have been sent to Earth from the Cassini spacecraft, which flew past the moon on Saturday. As well as the expected craters and chasms, one image reveals a peculiar, spear-shaped feature.
Looks like a relic alien spacecraft to me.
Don’t forget: The World Beard and Moustache Championships are being held October 1, 2005 in Berlin, Germany.
The American team have their own blog. I couldn’t find a Canadian team.
Phillip ought to grow his beard back.
How It Should Have Ended creates animated alternative endings to movies, usually with a much better ending than the original. Their Seven remake was predictable but funny.
They offer their movies in .wmv format and as torrent files. The best torrent client I’ve used is Azureus; it’s highly customizable and, more importantly, easy to use.
