“Unstoppable” is Boring

Unstoppable is a waste of time. I nearly fell asleep in the theatre. It’s an insult to half decent popcorn action flicks like Salt. Rent “Speed” instead. That’s about a bus that’s out of control instead of a train, but it also has plenty of other explosive action scenes and it’s silly enough to enjoy and not take seriously. I’m not sure if “Unstoppable” has any action scenes. It has some fast editing, but quick cuts and jerky camera moves can’t make up for a lack action. Skip it. Don’t even rent it.

  1. Ditto! Tony Scott has developed a nasty penchant for tantalizing yet terribly unsatisfying movies. Denzel & Travolta are much better than this class of low-grade popcorn fluff.

And who decided that Chris Pine has the substance and/or skill to be a big-ticket actor? Blech.

  2. “…that didn’t read like a 2 star review.”

It was boring, but I didn’t hate it. Ben Stiller would have to be in it for me hate it.

  3. I would give it a 2.5. There was some good suspense in the movie and it kept me wondering if this was a true to life story… Also, if you have surround sound, this movie is great!!!! It would have woken you up through those boring scenes Phillip :)

  4. I saw it in a theatre with the sound rumbling all around me. It didn’t help. Just polishing up a turd. Maybe not a turd, but not a very good movie.
