What should I buy? (with my big Canadian dollars)

The Canadian dollar is now worth $1.0052 US. I bought Charlie Parr’s latest album and Greg Brown’s semi-latest album last week thinking I was getting a good deal. But now the Canadian dollar is worth more than the US dollar and I guess it’s going to stay that way for the rest of the weekend, so I’ve got the weekend to grab up some even better deals.

Anyhow know any good places online where I can spend my big Canadian dollars?

I’m not much of a consumer, but I wouldn’t mind ordering some books — if I can buy them at US prices which are always 35% lower than Canadian prices. That’d be nice.

  1. I was driving back to canada via the Windsor/Detroit border this weekend and the toll booth fees were 4.50 canadian and 3.50 US. I had american cash on me so guess which one I paid.

I wonder how long this will last?

  2. I keep thinking that now’s the time to buy that sock yarn I’ve been eyeing for a while… I’ve also bought a whole bunch of PBS documentaries for work, and if I wasn’t going on vacation, I’d order a whack of books on MP3 from the only American distributor (who’s got a decent selection, better than the Canadian ones)
