What’s Going On?

I’ve been too lazy to post about stupid crap I find on the net (J-Walk tends to grab most of it anyway), and not motivated to post about personal occurrences, although here’s a summary of recent events:

  • Wally has diarrhea, which he’s been letting us know about by the mess he leaves every morning on the living room carpet the past few nights.
  • My wife and I started Tai Chi Chaun classes.
  • Someone with the “Kelsey” last name from Newfoundland contacted me about the Kelsey painting I posted about – another artist!
  • I recently used about 1300 Air Miles.
  • My motorcycle doesn’t work again. Some electrical problem I can’t figure out, so it’s stuck in my garage collecting dust.
  • I used a GPS for the first time recently. Nice gimic but not practical for me.
  • My wife quit her baking job at Tim Hortons after working there for a year, getting up 3:30am every morning to work a couple hours everyday.
  • Caitlyn, my seven year old daughter, is taking piano lessons, which she finds boring.
  • I’m THIS close to buying an original painting, preferably from a local artist, but some of Jean’s tempt me.
  • Iain (my three year old son) didn’t want to go to pre-school today because he doesn’t like timeout. This is the first we heard about it.
  • I started playing chess a lot more, which I was once very good at in my teenage years. I posted about this, though.
  • Gratz to Sedition.com on its 10th year aniversary! Too lazy to comment on his site about it even.

Besides Tommyboy, anyone interested in me posting like a diary? Which reminds me: Oh Me Nerves! posted about that topic recently, reminding me how it’s interesting to look at past personal posts.

  1. I’ve been struggling with the same kind of thing recently. There’s stuff going on, but not a lot that inspires a full post.

I prefer to see the personal posts about shit happening in your life or things you find interesting. Cauliflower popcorn, birds eating out of your hands, walks in the park, pissing all over yourself, and making toutons to name just a few are the kinds of things that keep me coming here. (I could do without the book and movie reviews, but hey, I’m not your only reader.)

Oh, and thanks for the link back to my site. Just watch the traffic roll on in!

  2. The laziness is universal, my friend.

Thanks for looking and linking. I’ll be posting more paintings this week. I hadn’t posted anything new for awhile…I was painting we just weren’t photographing them, so I have a little backlog. To make your shopping easier, US/Canadian $$ are equal.

  3. With two young kids in the house, interesting and amusing events occur every week; I’m just too lazy or forgetful to post about it. Also, photographic proof of the incident is always nice and I rarely remember to snap photos.

For example: on Saturday the kids decided to make yogurt soup while I wasn’t watching them for 3 minutes, opening 5-6 containers of yogurt, mixing it with various ingredients found in the fridge, like mustard, ketchup, orange juice…

Another example: my son discovered that toothpaste is fun to squeeze out of its container. ’nuff said.

  4. What little time I do spend on Facebook only serves to confirm the feeling that I have little in common with, not only the people I work with, but everybody. I see photos and announcements of all the parties and events everyone is going to, none of which looks appealing to me. As much as I like most of the people I associate with, I have no desire to be part of any group. I’m friendly and I’m sociable, but more so one on one or with couples. Facebook is for groupies. I’m not one. I never have been and I can’t see myself ever making the leap. Eventually I expect I’ll delete my account too.

  5. oh yeah I heatily agree…but could we focus on aging health issuess.
